Plan Your Day at The Race
The Tour of Somerville is America’s Longest-Running Bike Race, held every Memorial Day in downtown Somerville, New Jersey. It is an exciting event that offers cycling races with historical significance that have launched the professional careers of many Olympians and National Champions. The downtown area features a 1.1-mile course with four turns with no elevation change, making it “the easiest race to finish but the hardest race to win.” The entire course will be surrounded by fans who will be cheering and ringing cowbells while enjoying food and drinks at the many restaurants and bars. So, bring your friends and family along for this high-energy American Classic.
Criterium Race Route:
- The start/finish line is on West Main Street
- Left on North Bridge Street
- Left on West High Street
- Left on Mountain Ave
- Left on West Main Street at the Unity Bank
Vehicular traffic into or out of the area enclosed by the race course will not be possible after 7:30 a.m. Detours will be posted. Police will be available to direct traffic during these hours.

Turn 1 Community Zone
At West Main Street and North Bridge Street there is a Kid’s Zone, Expo Area, and Food Trucks.
Pop’s Bike Shop Kid’s Zone
Bring your kids and their bikes for the Pop’s Bike Shop Kid’s Zone. A kick bike course is perfect for kids 9 and under whether they’re on a kick-bike or a pedal bike. Not sure if your kid’s bike is ready? Bring it to Pop’s Bike Shop on North Main Street and North Bridge Street before the race to get it tuned up!
Food Trucks
We’ve got food trucks, ice cream trucks, and drink trucks available in Turn 1. Something for everyone across from the Courthouse and next to the kid’s zone.
Expo Area
Various vendors who love cycling and outdoor activities will gather in Turn 1, offering everything from cycling artwork to official Tour of Somerville merchandise and more. If you would like to be a vendor, please get in touch on our contact page by May 16!
BBQ Backstraight
Celebrate Memorial Day on the grill on the backstraight! Thanks to RWJ Barnabas, select areas will feature commentator audio so you know what is happening!
Parking
Parking is available in various lots and parking decks around the course. Please refrain from parking in the Shop-Rite parking lot, as the store will be open on Memorial Day and requests that their lot remains available for regular customers.
